Touted as a heir to Richard Thompson, Luke Jackson’s undoubtedly one of the most distinctive young voices to emerge on the UK scene in the last few years, and this live album finds him performing before a crowd of rabid fans in a cosy Canterbury cocktail bar. Just why any artist decides a ‘live’ album is a worthwhile career move is often a mystery. In Luke’s case most of the material is led from his last albums, and songs like the muscular ‘More Than Boys’ and ‘Kansas’ will be familiar. What this live setting proves is that the gold standard quality of Luke’s studio albums were no fluke, he’s an impeccable guitarist and writes songs that will endure.
